Season Highlights include recitals at Festival dels Horts in Picanya, Festival Internacional de Alcoy and Theater im Hof in Germany, as well as debuts at Dresdner Festspiele and Basler Münster with the premiere of his new composition for cello and choir "The drop that contains the ocean".

 

Prized for his profound and reflective interpretations, as well as his spiritual depth, Alfredo has received multiple awards, including the first prize and four special prizes at the VI Antonio Janigro International Competition in Zagreb, the N. Firmenich Prize at the XXIV Verbier Festival, and the Kiefer Habitzel prize in 2020 in Bern. In 2015 he was recognized by her Majesty the Queen Sofía of Spain for his outstanding academic year.

 

Since his debut at Auditorio Nacional de Madrid at the age of 20, Alfredo has performed as a soloist at some of the most prestigious venues in the world,  including the V. Lisinski National Hall in Zagreb, KKL in Luzern, St.Petersburg Shostakovich Hall, National Auditorium of Dominican Republic, ADDA in Alicante, Stadt Casino Basel or La Fenice Theater in Venice, with orchestras such as Croatian Radio and Television Symphonic Orchestra, Zagreb Soloists, Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, Lüneburg Bachorkester, Varazdin Chamber Orchestra, Elche Symphony, Orquesta de la Escuela Reina Sofia, etc, under conductors such as Heinz Holliger, Gordan Nikolic, Alondra de la Parra, Enrico Dindo or Günter Pichler.

 

He regularly appears at festivals such as Verbier Festival, Septembre Musical in Montreux, Paax GNP Festival in Mexico, Dresdner Festspiele, Sociedad de Conciertos de Alicante, GAIA Festival, Theater Im Hof, Kronberg Festival, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Pau Casals Festival or  Wissembourg Festival. His collaborations with Claudio Martínez-Mehner, Dmitry Smirnov, Mor Biron, Edicson Ruiz, Lily Francis, Mischa Maisky or Ettore Causa are worth mentioning. 

 

Ferre Martínez performances has been broadcasted in reknowned Radio-Television channels worldwide, including Medici.tv in Rusia, RTVE in Spain, IDAGIO, HRT in Croatia or SRF Switzerland.

As a recording artist, he released his first solo Album in 2025 featuring the Brahms Cello Sonatas with the Swiss-German pianist Dominic Chamot. In Addition, he has been part of the "Pastoral" project alongside the UNLTD Ensemble, releasing an Album for the label Signum Classics with pieces by Beethoven and G.Prokofiev.

Alfredo is an active composer since more than a decade, mainly focused on cello and string works, choral music and cello multitrack. His pieces has been performned in different countries, including Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Italy or France.

 

He is a professor at Curso International de Banyeres de Mariola, and has been guest professor at Conservatorio de Musica de Alicante.

 

Alfredo was born in Elda, Spain in 1994. He began his studies with Francisco Pastor, to continue later at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía with Natalia Shakhovskaya and Michal Dmochowsky. He concluded his studies at Musik-Akademie Basel with a Master and Post-Graduate degrees with Ivan Monighetti, Sol Gabetta, Claudio Martínez Mehner and Anton Kernjak.
